Location: Marana, AZ | Well after prolly 6mos or so of flying without a crash due to pilot error I finally did it! I am one of those who don't believe in accidents per say. I think mishaps are the result of many things going wrong at the same time. So what was the result? I crash landed my blue PA Addiction. Ill post some pics later. How did I do that? Well Lets start with the time 8:00pm. Not bad in itself in AZ. There was enough light to fly close in-I did not. It was a little more windy than I would have liked, I just needed to stay a little high, I did not. I needed to keep it out of the light-I did not. I needed to keep a visual on it at all times - I did not. The last two are what got me! While in a steep bank turn it went behind a tree. When it came out it was in the setting sunlight. I saw a black outline of a plane in a turn nose down at 11'alt. I pulled up and tried to roll out. Another 2" and I would have made a spectacular save. Instead I had a propstrike, and drug the L wing. I will not fly in the dark any more!
