![]() Posts: 416 ![]() Location: Fort Collins, Colorado | FS/W Area Rules & Guidelines: XtremeFlyer.com is proud to offer a dedicated forum area strictly for R/C classified ads. At this time, XtremeFlyer.com does not use a trader rating system like other forum sites. When dealing with other individuals on the site, please use your best judgment when purchasing items in the FS/W area, and use a seller’s post count and/or site join date as a good evaluator of his/her reputation: if a brand new user to the site is trying to sell an expensive item quickly, stay away from the sale and alert a site moderator if the deal seems suspicious. Scammers are a rare breed on sites such as these where everyone is like a big family! But, there is always the possibility. If a deal fits one of the “things to watch out for” criterion listed below, or a seller just seems “shady,” avoid the sale! Immediately post any concerns in the “site trader discussion” forum to alert other users, and contact a site moderator as soon as possible. If you have been scammed or fear a member is running a scam, IMMEDIATELY contact site staff – we will review the circumstances; if we find the poster to be a scammer, he/she will be instantly banned from the site. The XtremeFlyer staff is not responsible for any dealings that take place in the for sale/wanted area. If you feel any apprehension or suspicion over a deal, please contact site staff right away. Overview: Things to watch out for: - If a deal seems too good to be true, and/or: - If the seller tries to rush the sale through quickly or pressures you to make a decision fast. - The description of the item is vague and does not exactly match a photo posted within the ad. - A brand new user to the site is trying to sell an expensive item fast. - The seller demands payment via a PayPal.com “gift payment” (payment method that has no fees and thus has no buyer protection). - If a seller will not provide you with adequate contact information. If a deal does go wrong, don't panic. Don't immediately label the person a “scammer” all over the forum! Make as many attempts as possible at contacting the trader via any contact info he/she gave you. Be friendly and try to negotiate a resolution. If the trader’s contact info is false or he/she does not return your emails, calls, etc., then post your experience in the “site trader discussion” forum – believe me, other site members can be of a great help by giving you advice on how to file a PayPal dispute, resolve a issue with a trader, give other contact info, etc. Standard trading procedures: 1. A seller lists an item for sale in the FS/W forum with as descriptive a title as possible and posts the item(s) in the correct category. He/she should post clear photos that match the item description, state a clear and reasonable price, and try to answer questions and offers quickly to avoid any confusion. 2. A buyer can make an offer on an item, but the seller has every right to decide to whom he/she would like to sell the item. Do not get angry (as a buyer) if your offer was rejected even though you were the first to respond to the ad! 3. Once a price is decided upon, the seller should send payment method info to the buyer (through site private messaging), and post current updates on his/her ad listing to keep others from inquiring further. 4. As a seller, be sure to give the buyer ample time to send payment. If the payment is late in coming, give the buyer the benefit of the doubt that something may have happened and politely contact him/her. 5. Once payment is received, the item is considered “sold.” The buyer should update his/her ad listing by posting that the item has been sold and/or editing the title of the thread to say “sold” – do this as common courtesy to other traders. 6. Now, the seller must ship the item as soon as possible and communicate any tracking info to the buyer right away. Please follow these guidelines and stay safe! Thanks, XtremeFlyer.com staff | ||
