I pretty much just fly around... some times I try a 3D maneuver... other times a loop, Cuban eight, hammerhead or a four point roll. The thing is keep it flying.

I would like to learn IMAC sequence, can you create a thread explaining each maneuver and the sequence?

I try to keep it 3D as much as possible but every now & then it gets away and I have to fly level back. But at least I do that inverted. I think the most level part of the flight is the landing.

As far as that IMAC thing goes it's a secret! I'll try to post a practice sheet. That just covers the basic stuff. You gotta show up and get the sheet that morning of that days pattern, then compete!

Those sheets are hard for some, easy for others. But you gotta have a little plane on a stick. They all have them. I think is helps them "see" the words on the page.  If they see the little plane do it they usually do better than the guys who just read. I think it's a right brain, left brain thing. Heres the thing, you must have an experienced pilot calling for you who has flown your plane, and knows how YOU fly your plane. Those guys do better than "someone at the club who will help you out" When it works, it works good. When it don't work...well it's bad!

I flew in the basic class last year at my club IMAC contest -- I placed 1st out of about 9 or 10 other pilots in basic. I had a blast as this was my first year going this. Due to my engine being in the shop right up until the week of the contest, I basically got in no practice accept that on the simulator! I wrote out the maneuvers on the pattern sheet, but I also had them memorized -- just in case, I had my dad as my spotter and he just read the manuevers off as I did them.

The nice thing was, there is no unknown in basic! So, I didn't have to worry about learning another one over night!

I pretty much just like to fly around. My buddy Nate is trying to get me into SSC combat. He brought me over a new wing, engine mount and v-tail for a "Hell on Rails" last week. I bought the aluminum rail for the fuselage and supplied the engine and radio. I've got it almost done and cant wait to fly it. I don't know how I will do flying combat. I'm getting pretty old and akward to be doing that kind of stuff. Nate is only 36, just a kid compared to me. I may have to have my son fly it in combat, he is closer to Nate's age, he is 39.
