I have a 3 years old Zippy that still holding almost 100% power, even after being stored for 1 year without any maintenance.

XtremeFlyer Member Posts: 15 ![]() | For generics I like the Value Hobby batteries. They are basically the same packs as the turnigy / Flightmax packs but they come from the Chicago area so it's much faster. Plus the lower shipping offsets the higher pack price so I'm paying about the same as from Hobby King. For premium packs I still like the Thunder Power but I can't afford to fly them much. Steve

![]() Posts: 107 ![]() Location: Marana, AZ | Over time I have used FlightMax, Zippy,Turngy. I currently own a couple of Rhino,1 Moxie, & the Blue Lipos all in25c 3s. The Blue Lipo is the best for my planes it's a 1800mah. It powers the 3530-1100kv which draws a max of 26a. The slim size makes it ideal for the tray of the PA Addiction. I would buy more of the Blue Lipo but they are often out of stock. I prolly wont use any other brand from now on.

XtremeFlyer Member Posts: 45 ![]() | I chose other because I use the Power Up Lipos from HeadsUp RC for my smaller planes and whatever brand Hobbypartz.com sells for my larger batteries. I also have 4 Electrifly lipos.

![]() Posts: 416 ![]() Location: Fort Collins, Colorado | I know several people in my club who use the HobbyPartz "blue" lipos and seem to like them -- do they work well? HobbyPartz' appears to be the new 'domestic HobbyKing'!

XtremeFlyer Member Posts: 45 ![]() | Yes, I like HobbyPartz. Their prices are pretty close to Hobby King and shipping is fast and only costs $4.95. I have purchased A brushless motor, two ESCs a bunch of servos in different sizes and several batteries from them so far. I haven't had a bit of trouble with any thing I have bought yet. XtremeFlyer Member Posts: 11 ![]() | If it's going into a proven design needing performance packs I use the Hyperion G3's, if it's going into a beater plane the Turnigy 20C cheapo's are preferred. I'd rather bend up a cheap pack that a pricy one.

A friend of mine has a home-made foam trainer that he uses HobbyPartz Blue Lipos in -- he lost it in the wind the other day while in a loop and it lawn-darted straight in from about 35 ft. -- after the impact, his lipo stood on end rather nicely. XtremeFlyer Member Posts: 9 ![]() | The first Li-Poly battery I bought is a HECELL 3-cell 2100mAh. I got it off ebay and can't find any more. It's had @75 chrge cycles and is still going strong but is only a 15C so I usually only use it in my GWS Slow Stick or my Sig Rascal. I got a couple ABF 2100mAh 3-cells and have @50 flights one each of them. They have been great, but have started to puff up a little. They keep charging/flying fine but are taking longer to balance charge so I'm starting to wonder if they're beginning to fade. I recently got a couple Turnigy 4.0 3-cell packs for my Great Planes F-14, but only have 3-4 cycles on them so can't really say how they will be. Prices have sure come down since I bought my first Li-Poly and I'm glad I found Hobby King!
